The Pool Construction Process

Layout & Excavation

Our pool excavation experts will dig out the entire pool area. The layout will be verified and shape boards will be set after calling 811 to mark any buried utility lines. Depending on your access, you can excavate with a variety of machines. Depending on the soil and weather conditions, this process will take a few days.

Rough Plumbing

Before the steel is installed, the rough plumbing is completed. This includes the main drains, skimmers, return lines, raised spas, water features, and cleaning systems, as well as the plumbing lines for the main drains, skimmers, return lines, raised spas, water features, and cleaning systems.

Structural Steel

Steel reinforcement (rebar) will be installed to give the pool shell strength and support. Your city inspector can conduct an inspection after it is completed, if necessary.

Gunite

Gunite is a combination of cement, sand, and water that is applied with a pressure hose to create a thick, hard layer of concrete on steel to form the pool’s shell. To help in the curing process, the shell must be routinely watered by the homeowner after construction.

Tile, Coping & Stone

During this process, waterline tile, pool coping, spa spillways, raised walls, water sheers, and stonework are all built. Depending on the size and complexity of the task, this phase will take anything from a few days to a few weeks.

Pool Equipment Setup

Professional plumbers are utilized to install all of your pool equipment. Wiring for the appliances, lighting, heaters, and remote control systems will be installed by licensed electricians. A licensed utility plumber can run a gas line from your meter to the spa heater if one is needed.

Pool Decking

Decking comes with a variety of materials. Shape boards, steel, and sand are used to set concrete decks. This move will be added approximately 2 weeks later if you choose a cool deck texture or patterned/stamped overlay.

Job Site Cleanup

Your project is almost over! All garbage will be collected, hauled down, and the yard will be graded back to its original elevation by our clean-up team.

Interior Finish

The texture, color, and design of your pool finish are all customizable options. If you want a plaster, pebble, or tile interior, we provide expert installation. We will clear debris and pump any water from the bottom of your pool the day before the interior finish is installed. The pool is then filled with water until it has been finished.
